Our client, a busy port are recruiting for a motivated and dependable individual with good hydraulic and mechanical experience for a technician role within the Lock Engineering team. Working across a broad array of equipment and systems in support of the ports lock gates, impounding pumps, sluices and other critical assets, this is an important role with plenty of opportunity for personal and professional growth.
The roles key responsibilities include:Upholding companywide Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures, ensuring safe systems of work are adhered to and high engineering standards and practices are achieved.Ensuring all assigned maintenance (e.g. correctives, PPMs, installation, improvement, etc) is conducted in a timely and professional manner as set out in departmental procedures, training, supervisor guidance and safe systems of work.Reading OEM Manuals and Technical Drawings.Responding to breakdowns and other emergent work, diagnosing and communicating recommendations for corrective action and repairs.Raising new Jobs in the ports Enterprise Asset Management system (IFS Ultimo), ensuring supervisors and managers are informed of new risks and issues where required.Challenging maintenance held within IFS Ultimo as required, providing constructive feedback and highlighting opportunities for improvement.Participating in Continuous Improvement activities.
A strong candidate will be able to demonstrate experience across the following:Have a minimum of 5 years practical engineering experience in a recognised industry.Hold, or be working towards achieving, Engineering Council accredited Engineering Technician (EngTech) status or equivalent status / qualification as determined by a recognised organisation.Digital Skills - good level of computer and mobile device literacy, including experience working with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.Ability to ensure quality standards are met and maintained when conducting maintenance and recording maintenance feedbackGood communication skills.Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.UK Drivers Licence.Good level of understanding of Engineering Management Systems and Processes.
